Rotary Club of Ballarat

About

President Message

We have chalked up some major club achievements since those early days, we started the "Young Farmers Movement", The Life Education program and in partnership with the City of Ballarat the "Crafts Persons Awards", to name a few.  We have always been strong supporters of Rotary programs such as the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment and Youth Exchange; our club hosting and sponsoring many students over the years.

Undoubtedly one of the best examples of our community involvement is the Rotary House Project begun in the year 2000 as the clubs 75th anniversary contribution to Ballarat.  Rotary House was a joint project of the 6 Ballarat clubs and the Ballan Rotary club.

The Rotary Club of Ballarat runs the SpringFest Season of Events from August to November each year.  SpringFest is the major fund raising initiative of our club; each year the events offered are bigger and better

SpringFest culminates in SpringFest Market Sunday held in November. There are market and craft stalls, displays and events by Sovereign Hill a Wine and Food Fest, vehicle Show and Glow display, Musical entertainment, Dragon Boat Regatta, and the Children's Wunder Fest, providing fun and entertainment for the whole community.  For more information check our website www.ballaratspringfest.com.au .

SpringFest is not our only major event of the year; we also combine with the other Ballarat Rotary clubs in running the highly successful Ballarat Swap Meet, held in February each year.

I invite you to come and join us for lunch on Thursdays; we meet at 1pm at the Ballarat Golf Club 1800 Sturt Street Ballarat.  We are a busy club and if you are you interested in becoming involved, be it as a member or as a volunteer and wish to attend a Rotary meeting you can contact me via this website.

This year's Rotary International President's theme is "Rotary Serving Humanity" so consider becoming a Rotarian and join the worldwide organisation of Rotary. We guarantee you won't regret the small step that can make such a difference to the world and our community
