Tom Jenkins - Winston Loveland Scholarship

Last week we were privileged to be entertained by Tom
Jenkins who the club has awarded the 2020-2021
Winston Loveland Scholarship.

The scholarship is named memory our long standing past member Winston Loveland.

Tom, is a student at Ballarat Clarendon College who started performing at Clarendon in year 5 with is debut role of
Flounder in The Little Mermaid. Since then, he has played Timmon in the Lion King, Joseph and his Amazing
Technicoloured Dreamcoat and Theo from No Vacancy in School of Rock.

In 2019, he was nominated for a Victorian Theatre Guild award for his role as William in the Australian
debut of The Battle of the Boat, and in 2020, Tom was selected to perform his monologue from Private Peaceful at
the Arts Centre Melbourne for VCE Theatre Studies Top class.

More recently, Tom has recorded some of his original compositions with Sonika Records and has released his
original song, Shattered on Spotify. Last year he was the recipient of the BAF grant for work on his original
composition and recording. He is currently studying VET Music Industry (Performance) where he performs covers as well as his own compositions on guitar and vocals, often creating complex polyphonic performances with the loop station.

He has performed in recently in the Senior Contemporary Band, Feet, and Sid Sorokin in Clarendons
Senior production of the Pyjama Game. Tom hopes to continue making music an important part of
his life. A very talented and worthy recipient of the Winston Loveland Scholarship.
