Nikki Shanahan - Ballarat Wildlife Hospital Gallery

The Ballarat Wildlife Hospital (not to be confused with the Ballarat Wildlife Park) was set up in 2022 to look after the ongoing need for wildlife welfare.

The only hospital of its kind in Victoria, it provides comprehensive care and support for native wildlife. 

According to Nikki, who has 35 years experience in vet nursing, animals entering their care, from koalas, echidnas to native reptiles and wedged tail eagles, receive tailored care to maximise survivability. 

The hospital tracks most of the animals they release through partnerships with local shelters and Federation University.
