"Every Picture Tells a Story" - Meeting 8/12/2022 Gallery

Last week's speaker Jeremy Bannister bought a very welcome change of approach to his presentation to the club. Jeremy is a professional photographer and centered his presentation around a group of the best photos he took during his many years as a photographer for the Ballarat Courier. Jeremy highlighted the professional code by which media photographers operate and the need to ensure the photo 'tells the story' so as to attract a potential reader to want to read more. His photos covered topics from Sovereign Hill, to the millennium drought (swans swimming in a Lake Wendouree puddle) and train derailments. Jeremy also touched on his work as a photographer of rock concerts in England and the challenges of working in high pressure environments to get the best shot. We were very fortunate to have Jeremy as a guest speaker and to learn about the highlights of his significant and rewarding career.
