Celebrating Women's Success - GC Paddle Steamer 16/2/23 Gallery

The highlight of the week was certainly the fourth of our 'Celebrating Women's Success' seasonal events in the form of a tour of the Golden City Paddle Steamer museum and Lake Wendouree on board the wonderful Golden City Paddleboat. A capacity crowd of 40 people comprised of both potential and existing club members en- joyed the tours. A capacity crowd of 40 people comprised of both potential and existing club members enjoyed the tours. The guest speaker was our very own member, Jan Davidson. Jan spoke enthusiastically about what attracted her to Rotary. Jan also gave a moving and personal insight into her journey to becoming a successful author. Thanks to Jan for making the voyage so special. Thanks also go to the terrific efforts of our very active membership committee of John Valpied, Sam McIntosh, Jan Davidson, Alan Smith and Wes McKnight. A special vote of thanks to Merryl Valpied who provided the sumptuous food, our special barman Greg McIntosh, John Stephenson for arranging the music and to the Captain Bob from Paddle Steamer Society who very generously waived the hiring fee for the event.
